PHASE 1: PRE-DRILL SETUP

DEFINE THE METRIC YOU’RE FIXING
Pick one Prozone stat that’s costing you games. Maybe it’s your team’s 38% pass completion in the final third, or 12 missed tackles per game in the defensive third. Write it on a whiteboard where every player sees it. Skipping this means the drill has no target. Players won’t know what success looks like, and you’ll waste 20 minutes chasing nothing.
ISOLATE THE VIDEO CLIP
Pull the exact Prozone clip where the issue happens. If it’s a turnover in midfield, find the moment the ball is lost and the next 10 seconds. Loop it on a screen during the warm-up. PHASE 2: DRILL 1 – THE 3-SECOND TRANSITION GAME

SETUP

EXECUTION

PHASE 3: DRILL 2 – THE DEFENSIVE LINE DRILL

SETUP
Use a half-pitch with a goal and a goalkeeper. Set up 6v4—six attackers against four defenders. The attackers must stay in the attacking half. The defenders start on the edge of their own box. Place two cones 20 yards apart to mark the defensive line’s starting position.
EXECUTION
The coach plays a ball into the attackers. The defenders must step up as a unit to the halfway line, then drop back to the edge of the box when the ball is cleared. The key is timing.
